We are thrilled to invite your martial arts school to participate in this year’s Cape Cobra League Invitational, proudly hosted by Brackenfell Shotokan Karate Academy.

As the third leg of the Western Province Karate & Kobudo League Championship, the Cape Cobra League promises a day of high-energy competition, camaraderie, and skill-building, where athletes can earn valuable points for the league rankings while preparing for future championships.

Why Participate?

The Cape Cobra League offers unique opportunities for your dojo, including:

• Introducing Novices: A chance for beginner students to compete in a friendly and supportive setting.
• Refining Skills: Experienced athletes can test their abilities and prepare for upcoming provincial and national tournaments.

Ranking System & Selection Criteria

As part of the Western Province Karate & Kobudo League Ranking System, the Cape Cobra League contributes to provincial rankings and the selection process for the WUKF SA National Championships. Competitor performance will be reflected in their rankings, ensuring transparency and fairness in the selection process.

Important Notes:

• No Refunds: Refunds will not be issued for no-shows or competitors unable to participate due to illness on the day of the event.

Supporting the League:

To ensure the tournament runs smoothly, we encourage all dojos to send referees, judges, and table officials. These events are a valuable platform for developing officials in the Western Cape. Please register your officials on Kihapp to assist with the event.

Food & Refreshments:

The championship will feature a tuck shop and food stands to keep everyone energised throughout the day. Card payment facilities will be available for convenience. Officials will be provided with refreshments during the event.

Live Streaming:

Can’t make it to the event? No problem! All floors will be live-streamed for your convenience. Streaming links will be shared on Kihapp (Live), ensuring that everyone can follow the action in real-time.

Registration & Payment:

All entries and payments must be submitted through the Dojo Head, who will handle bulk payments for their competitors. Individual entries from students will not be accepted.

Key Deadlines:

• Entry Deadline: Friday, 5 September 2025

Timely entries are essential to:

• Finalise Male & Female Divisions and ensure accuracy in entries.
• Prepare draw sheets and, if necessary, merge categories.
• Organise the tatami layout for a professional and efficient tournament.
• Determine the number of referees, judges, and table officials required.
• Finalise the Order of Events for the tournament.
