Join us for one of the most exciting and inclusive karate tournaments in the region! Whether you're a seasoned competitor, a first-time athlete, or a martial arts enthusiast, this event has something for everyone.

πŸ’₯ What to Expect:
🧠 Referee & Coaches Clinic
πŸ“… Saturday, October 4th, 2025 – 8:30 AM MST (mandatory for all referees and coaches)
Coaches MUST have a coaches credential to be able to coach on the floor. Coaching credentials will be given out to those that take the referee coaches clinic and will be given at the end of the clinic.

**This clinic is required for all individuals who plan to coach on the floor or referee in the rings during the tournament.

Whether you're new to officiating or a seasoned coach, this interactive session is designed to elevate your knowledge, sharpen your skills, and promote fairness and consistency across all divisions.

Referees:
Gain hands-on experience and mentorship from nationally ranked referees
Learn proper signals, scoring systems, ring management, and rule applications
Receive eligibility for regional referee ranking and advancement

Coaches:
To be able to coach on the floor, each coach must have their own Coaching Credentials.
Coaching credentials will only be handed out to coaches that participate in the referee/coaching clinic to its entirety.
Coaches that do not have a badge that matches their picture will not be allowed to be on the floor to coach their athlete.
Understand the latest rules and how they apply to your athletes
Learn strategies to communicate effectively and respectfully with officials
Discover coaching techniques that support athlete performance and sportsmanship
Must attend and sign a coaching agreement to receive your coaching badge

This clinic helps unify our standards across all rings, ensures a consistent experience for athletes, and empowers coaches and referees alike to contribute to a high-quality, respectful tournament environment.

Saturday, October 4 – Main Tournament Event

πŸ•™ 9:30 AM - Black Belt Divisions Begin
πŸ•™ 11:00 AM – Opening Ceremony
πŸ•₯ 11:30 AM – Competition Begins for lower rank begin after opening ceremony

➀ Black Belt kata and kobudo divisions start first, followed by Youth and Adult under belt divisions.

Hero’s Kata Division – For current or former military, first responders & medical professionals (18+)

My 1st Tournament Division – Exclusively for brand-new competitors!
Inclusive Divisions – Adaptive categories for athletes with physical or cognitive challenges
Grand Champion Awards – Youth & Adult Black Belt Kata and Kumite divisions

**Division Scoring & Medals**
Kobudo = Scorecard (1st, 2nd, 3rd place Awards)
Kata = Scorecard (1st, 2nd, 3rd place Awards)
Kumite (Sparring) = Single Elimination - (Double 3rds)

Fair, respectful judging with modified AAU-style rules.

- Medals: Awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in all Kata, Kobudo
- Kumite divisions double 3rds.

Registration Changes
PLEASE VERIFY your information carefully.
- Change Fee: $30 per change after check in and the tournament begins.
(this includes birthdate, age, and division, etc)
- Note: Changes must be made before the start of the tournament.

Rank Description/Key:
Beginner = 0 - 1 year experience
Novice = 1 - 2 years experience
Intermediate = 2 - 4 years experience
Advanced = Black Belt
*Divisions may be combined at the discretion of the tournament host and administration.*
