GTI Junior Open 2025

Global Taekwondo International is pleased to invite you to participate in the 2025 Junior Open Championships.

This event will be held at Leisure@Cheltenham Leisure Centre, and will take place on Sunday 1st June.

This is a Junior Only event with a maximum age of 17 years.

All ITF-Style Taekwondo clubs and associations are welcome to take part.
Minimum rank of Yellow-tag (9th Kup) is required to participate.

Doors open 9:00am for a 9:30am prompt start.

Events will include:
• Patterns
• Point-Stop Sparring (for Yellow/Green belt, 9th-5th Kup)
• Continuous Sparring (for Blue/Red/Black belt, 4th Kup and above)
• Speed Kicking (listed as Special Technique on entry system)
• Team Patterns (3-5 team members, register & pay online, £20 per team)
• Team Sparring (3 team members, register & pay online, £20 per team)

TEAM ENTRY - Individual entries must be completed as normal prior to team entry. Team entry is done via the "Register Team" button from the menu. Team entry deadline is the same as the competition entry deadline.
No team entry will be available on the day.

Teams should enter the division appropriate to the HIGHEST rank and/or OLDEST, TALLEST/HEAVIEST person in the team. Teams can be made up of ANY GRADE & AGE (for sparring, please ensure common sense prevails for team selection by division. Any teams where the match-ups could be deemed unsafe will be awarded as a "no contest" to the opposing team - i.e. do not enter a 9 year old in a sparring team with 15 year olds).

We offer fully matted areas and high-quality medals, as well as:
• Junior categories separated by age group, as well as by height in sparring for 13 and under, weight for 14-17.
• Fair judging of sinewave and non-sinewave patterns
• FREE entry for all spectators!

Cost:

£25 for GTI members (see your instructor for discount code)

£5 Late Entry Surcharge.
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 29TH MAY

ENTRIES WILL BE CAPPED AT 300 - When we hit 300 entries, bookings will close.

This event will also be an opportunity for black belt competitors from all associations to collect ranking points for the 2025/26 Competitor of the Year awards.

Insurance
If your current organisation does not support you by extending your existing insurance cover for external events, then we can offer liability and no-fault accident cover at a cost of £5 per entrant. This will cover you for all GTI events until the end of this year. If this insurance is required then it can be arranged on the day by visiting the admin desk.
