RULES & REGULATIONS
General Rules
All entries and fees must be received by the closing date.

Online entries only via Kihapp.com. Entries are accepted only once fees are received.

WKF rules apply with amendments at the discretion of the Chief Referee and Competition Organiser.

Competitors must enter only their own age categories.

Categories may be merged if necessary. If merging is not possible, competitors will be notified and refunded. If a competitor chooses not to compete in a merged category, no refund will be issued.

Coaches are responsible for ensuring competitors are entered correctly. Errors may result in disqualification.

All competitors must bring a valid licence. Spot checks will be made. No licence = disqualification, no refund.

Anyone wishing to take photos/videos must complete a form at the booking desk (child protection policy).

Competitors must bring their own equipment (see Equipment section).

Chief Referee’s decision is final. No protests allowed. Only coaches may approach the Chief Referee.

8th–7th Kyu
Pinan kata only
Kata may be repeated

6th–4th Kyu

3rd–1st Kyu
Any kata, any round
Minimum 2 katas
Kata may be repeated, but not consecutively

Dan Grades
First round: Shitei kata (Seienshin or Bassai Dai)
Subsequent rounds: Any kata
Kata may be repeated only after 3 different katas have been performed
Minimum 3 katas required
If fewer than 8 competitors: Shitei rule is removed (competitors will be informed after entries close)

Junior Kata (Under 16)
JKF system used (two competitors performing simultaneously)
Final is performed individually

KUMITE RULES
Cadets (Under 16)
Bout duration: 1.5 minutes
Finals: 2 minutes
No contact to head, neck, or face (even light).
Head/face are scoring targets within 10cm range.
Cadets divided by height.
Mirror judging may be used depending on section size.

Ages 16+
Bout duration: 3 minutes
Touch contact permitted up to 5cm from head/face

Adults (18+) divided by weight where possible

Shobu Ippon
Mirror judging system
Open weight/grade

Heights and weights must be correct—errors cannot be fixed on the day and result in disqualification

Awards
Individual Kumite: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place - some joint third places where there are larger entries
