ICO Legacy Cup (Novices Only)

This event is for NOVICE COMPETITORS ONLY. For this event, a novice is defined as follows:

Light Contact Ringsports divisions:

- Less than 12 months of competition experience across ANY combat sport (so did not compete in any combat sport before 01/11/25).
- No more than 3 tournaments (irrespective of how many bouts in each tournament) or decision bouts (or combination of the 2) prior to this event.
- Has not won a gold medal in an open division at any tournament (wins at novice level are acceptable).
- No more than 2 years total training experience. No Black belts (or equivalent). Licenses WILL be checked.

Thaiboxing (Full Contact):

- No more than 3 bouts prior to this event (Amateur tournaments count as one bout. Non decision interclubs not counted as a bout)
- Must not have competed above N class.

All disciplines will be held under ICO rules. All competitors MUST hold a valid license/insurance with a reputable martial arts/combat sports governing body. ICO licenses will be available on the day.

Bout Durations:

Prelims - 2 x 1min rounds/30s rest (under 16) or 2 x 1.5min rounds/45s rest (16 plus) with a third round in the event of a draw.
Finals - 3 rounds, same duration and rest period as prelims.

MANDATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

ALL DISCIPLINES - 10oz Gloves, Mouthguard, Groinguard (male), Headguard (open face)
K1 Light - Shorts (above the knee), Shin/instep protectors, Body protector (under 16), Knee pads (16 plus)
Ring Light - Long trousers, Padded kickboots, shin guards.
Kick Light - Shorts (above knee), Padded kickboots, shin guards.
Thaiboxing - Shorts (above the knee), Shin/instep protectors, Body protector (under 16), Knee pads (16 plus)

ALL entries non refundable once submitted unless a competitor cannot be matched in which case a refund will be given with the exception that if a competitor does not make weight on the day and cannot be rematched safely and sensibly.

If a division receives only 1 entry, an optional catch weight (within 5kg)/age (2 years max for juniors) match will be offered if possible. Nobody under the age of 18 will be matched with anyone aged 18 or over.
