Southern open Tournament:

We are excited to announce the Southern Open Tournament.

This tournament is suitable for all levels and is designed to give everyone a competition experience but in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Join us at the Shoreham Academy for an unforgettable experience where fighters of all skill levels can demonstrate their abilities and passion for martial arts.

This competition will cover a variety of disciplines and will feature the following events:

Event Categories:
To ensure a fair and competitive environment, athletes will be divided into the following categories based on months of training experience: from the day they started training at you're club and to take into account of any previous experience from other club.

FIRST TIME COMPETITORS:
NOVICE: 0-24 MONTHS
ADVANCED: 24 MONTHS +
Eligibility: - NO SQUAD MEMBERS
This category is for the athletes who have never taken part in any kickboxing competetion before. It is designed to give first time competitors a safe and supportive introduction to the competitive environment. The focus is on gaining experience, learning the rules and building confidence on the mat.

NOVICE
Eligibility:
No more than 0-24 months of training experience.
Please ensure fairness and integrity when making these decisions.

INTERMEDIATE
Eligibility:
26 to 36 months of training experience.

ADVANCED
Eligibility:
36+ months of training experience.

Coaches & parents are encouraged to demonstrate integrity when entering athletes into categories to ensure fair competition across all levels. If you have a fighter whom you believe is not at advanced level, despite their experience, please discuss with us in advance.

Event Schedule:
Sunday 1st March 2026: Shoreham Academy- Free Parking.

Schedule - Please do come and enjoy the day and watch all the students who are taking part, we can not offer a exact detailed timing schedule but will aim to go in age order,

Little Ninjas 4-6yrs - AM
First Timers (ALL) - AM
Cadets 7-11yrs - AM & PM
Teens 11+ - PM
Adults - ALL - PM
Southern Open Belt Challenge - PM

Points Fighting & Light Continuous (Tatami)

Weigh-Ins:

For KBF fighters, this will happen during classes. For fighters from other clubs, please submit the weights no later than 15th February.

Weight Allowance: There is a 0.5kg allowance.

If there are insufficient participants in a division, it may be cancelled. Refunds will be provided if no alternative arrangements can be made. No refunds will be made if you are unable to attend the day.
