Welcome to the WKA Northern Ireland Open 2026

Please read the below information.

Weigh Ins and complete registration will be held on Friday 6th March from 7pm = 9pm and also Saturday 7th from 9am. Please note if you miss weigh ins you will be removed from your categories with no refund.
If you don't make weight and there's no one in the heavier section there will be no refund.

Medicals will be 9am - 10am Saturday 7th.
If you are fighting in the ring
(RING SPORTS ONLY) you will require a short medical.
If you miss your medical you will NOT be allowed to fight in the ring with no refund.

EQUIPMENT....

Gum Shields in all disciplines.

POINT FIGHTING

Open hand gloves with fingers and thumbs enclosed. Head guard (top of head to be padded). Shin and kick boots (NO insteps under boots). Groin guard mandatory for female juniors and adults and all male age sections. Breast protector/guard mandatory for female juniors and adults.
Long trousers, T-shirt or fight top, NO vests

LIGHT CONTACT & FULL CONTACT KICKBOXING

10oz boxing gloves, Head guard (top of head to be padded). Shin and kick boots (NO insteps under boots). Groin guard mandatory for female juniors, adults and all male age sections. Breast protector/guard mandatory for female juniors and adults.
Mats – Long trousers, T-shirt or fight top on mats (NO vests).
Ring – Long trousers, No top for male, vest top for female.

KICK LIGHT, K1, (MAT & RING)

10oz boxing gloves, Head guard (top of head to be padded). Shin and kick boots or shin and insteps. Groin guard mandatory for female juniors, adults and all male age sections. Breast protector/guard mandatory for female juniors and adults.
Mats – Shorts, T-shirt or fight top on mats (NO vests).
Ring – Shorts, No top for male, vest top for female.

BOXING (MAT & RING)

10oz Boxing gloves. Head guard, Boxing boots or trainers. Groin guard mandatory for female juniors, adults and all male age sections. Breast protector/guard mandatory for female juniors & adults.
Ring - No top for male, vest top for female.
Mat = T=shirt or vest top for male and female.
