2024 WUKF South Africa National Championship & Afro-Asia Open

General Information

Dear Esteemed South African and International WUKF Affiliated Federations,

It is my privilege to invite South African and International WUKF affiliated Federations to the 2024 WUKF South Africa National Championship & Afro-Asia Open.

Building on the success of 2022 and 2023, the Championship will return to the splendid Boardwalk Hotel and International Convention Centre in Gqeberha (previously Port Elizabeth) which is situated on Marine Drive directly opposite Hobie Beach and Shark Rock Pier.

The Championship carries the full-support and endorsement of WUKF President, Prof. Dr Liviu Crisan and his Executive Committee.

Not only will the Championship consolidate the friendship and camaraderie between WUKF affiliates in South Africa and abroad, but it will also serve as an excellent showcase event for WUKF Karate in this Country. The Championship will play a pivotal role in assisting selected athletes in their preparations for the 12th WUKF World Championship in Mexico in July 2024.

The luxurious championship venue (2000 square metres) will comprise eight tatami floors, each with comfortable seating for spectators and air-conditioning. In addition, the championship experience will provide the opportunity for athletes, officials, their families, and supporters of WUKF karate to enjoy an unforgettable experience at this incredible destination.

East Cape Shotokan-Ryu’s Organising Committee has decades of experience in staging large scale championship events and we are committed to delivering an enjoyable and professional Championship. We look forward to welcoming you to the Eastern Cape.
