We are excited to invite your martial arts school to participate in the Western Cape MASA-WUKF SA Karate & Kubudo Provincial Championship, proudly and jointly hosted by New World Shotokan Karate and Brackenfell Shotokan Karate Academy.

The Western Cape MASA - WUKF SA Karate & Kubudo Provincial Championship offers your dojo participants the chance to:

• Celebrate Excellence: Compete for the provincial medals and to select the provincial team to participate at the MASA - WUKF SA Karate & Kubudo National Championships schedule for April/May 2026
• Sharpen Skills: Prepare your athletes for the upcoming national championships.
• Encourage New Talent: Introduce novice students to the provincial level to a competitive but supportive environment.

Ranking System & Selection Criteria

At the Western Cape MASA - WUKF SA Karate & Kubudo Provincial Championships, the participants will accumulate ranking points for provincial team selection, therefore participation in this event is a critical part of the ranking system, contributing to:

• Provincial Rankings:
Forming part of the selection criteria for the WUKF SA National Championships.
Competitor's performance will be reflected in their rankings, ensuring fairness and transparency in team selection for both provincial and national levels.
• League Rankings: Determining the overall champions of the league for 2026.

Important Notes:

• No Refunds: Refunds will not be provided for no-shows or competitors unable to participate due to illness on the day of the event.

Supporting the Provincial event:

We encourage all dojos to send referees, judges, and table officials to support the event. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and grade officials to provincial levels while contributing to the success of the provincial event. This is also an important event to sharpen your skills if you wish to grade to national level.

Please register your officials on Kihapp to assist with event planning.

All coaches to provide their own lanyard and coach's tag. Please make provision behind the coaches' tag for any violation entries.

Food & Refreshments:

The event will feature a tuck shop and food stands offering snacks and refreshments for competitors and spectators. Card payment facilities will be available.

Officials will be catered to throughout the day to keep them energized.

Live Streaming:

Can’t attend in person? No problem! All floors will be live-streamed, so you can follow the action from anywhere. Streaming links will be shared on Kihapp (Live) closer to the event date.

Registration & Payment:

Entries and payments must be submitted through the Dojo Head, who will handle bulk submissions. Individual entries from students will not be accepted.

Key Deadlines:

• Entry Deadline: Friday, 6 March 2026

Submitting entries on time is essential to:
• Finalise the various Male & Female Divisions and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare draw sheets and, if necessary, merge categories, if there a low number of entries per a division.
• Organise the tatami layout for a professional and efficient tournament.
• Determine the number of referees, judges, and table officials required.
• Finalise the Order of Events for the day.

Entry Payments

Coaches Fee: R100.00 per coach must also accompany the entry fees.
